Dance Party!!!

How is the family?? This week has been great! Lots of activity!! This last Monday we played soccer until dinner time! It was a ton of fun. We played with the Sisters and a couple Elders from the District. Elder Bird, Herring, Brown, Celestino, Burhans, Brumwell etc. We went to dinner together afterwards.

This week we've been getting a lot of members referrals. Most of them though have been in the Sisters area. We split the ward into two areas so a lot of the referrals we got we would just forward the message to the sisters. We did get a call from some Elders in New York though! They had an investigator moving from New York to Bakersfield into our area. They told us all about him and that his name is Mehdi (said like Madi). They said he was flying in that day and that they would tell us when he landed and where his new address was. We stopped by the house but he wasn't there yet. We called him and he said he would come to church but the next day he didn't end up showing up. He later told us that he's been super tired from the flight and he was still trying to unpack and do some stuff. We are trying to set up a time to meet him but he hasn't call us back yet. We'll get him though. We are really excited.

Saturday night the ward was having a ward valentines dance for the relief society we got invited by one of the members because they were supposed to feed us that night but they forgot so they just told us to come to the dance. The Sisters were there so we sat out in the foyer for most the time and has our own little dance party haha. It was a ton of fun. We took a ton of pictures so I'll send a couple in this email and then some more in another one.

We had two investigators come to church the next day! Vanessa and her husband Steven (who is a member but is less-active but wants to come back) and Marcos who is 9 and is getting baptized soon because his parents invited us over to teach him the lessons. Since he is over the age of 8 it'll be a convert baptism so he has to take the lessons. It's going well with them so far.

Today right before emails we went and got haircuts and then went and contacted a referral named Darrol Green. He was awesome. He's a really poor black man. He lives in a smaller shack in a back alley on a dirt road. He rides around on a motorized bike because he doesn't have a car or anything. He told us he met the sisters once before because they were walking down the street and he stop them to tell them to get off this street because there was a lot of bad people out there and he didn't want them getting hurt. We tried to talk about the restoration but he couldn't really focus because a lot happened they day before that was rough for him. So we gave him a Restoration pamphlet and told him to read it and pray. We are going back tomorrow and also invited him to church and that we would give him a church tour the day before so he could get familiar with it all. He accepted it all and said thank you and that he loves us. He was really awesome and humble. He really loves talking about God.

Other than those specific events not a lot has happened. Oh we taught a member family the Santore-Tovar family the Restoration for practice last night. They are an awesome family. The dad Arti was apparently a professional wrestler back in the day haha. His wife said if we looked him up we would find him. Anyway I think that's all I have to report this week!

I love you alllllll so much!! Loved hearing about Ty and Lacey's move and all!!!! Love youuu!!!!!

p.s. Also you should look an artist named Brandon Heath! He's so awesome I found him on my USB looking at different songs. He sings songs a lot about Christ and other things. I love him now.
